WELCOME to our web site.
We hope you will spend some time here learning about how we can help you, your family or friends – or how you can get involved in helping others. We all face challenges at some point in our lives. Jewish Family Service aims to ease our clients through challenging times.
Jewish Family Service professionals have delivered vital human services to the community for 25 years. We are a non-profit, non-sectarian agency, and we offer our services to anyone in need. Whether it is providing transportation for an older adult, assisting a family in transition, or working with referring social service agencies, we strive to treat all clients with respect, dignity and confidentiality.
Jewish Family Service of New Mexico (JFSNM) will become the premier
nonprofit organization for promoting Aging in Place and meeting the
social service needs of Jewish and non-Jewish elderly in New Mexico.
JFSNM will make significant contributions to meeting the social service
needs of Jewish and non-Jewish families in New Mexico.
The Jewish value of tikkun olam, repairing the world, guides our work. We are here to offer support, comfort and hope. Browse our site or contact us to learn more.

JFS Food Pantry - Most Urgent Need
-
Thanks to you, we help hundreds of struggling people in our community each month by meeting some of their most basic needs. We could not do this without the support of people like YOU who care, and share what they have with others!
This month the Food Pantry's most urgent needs are rice and canned vegetables such as carrots, corn, or mixed vegetables. Those we are serving at the Food Pantry are also asking for diapers sizes 4 and above and dog and cat food. Please contact Debbie at 505.348.4514 if you want to donate any perishable items.
You can help us feed our neighbors in need by adding an extra item or two to your weekly shopping list and dropping it off at the donation bin in the JCC lobby, at donation bins located at local Congregations, at Footprints Home Care, or at the JFS office.
Cash donations to help the Food Pantry serve those in need are always appreciated. With your help, we can do this! Thank you for your donations.

JFS Brain Fitness Program
Through the Community Innovations in Aging in Place grant and in partnership with Aging Matters, LLC, JFS has developed a new curriculum called “Engaged Aging: Building Fitter Brains,” which details the interconnectedness of physical and cognitive exercise, nutrition, and creativity when it comes to brain fitness. The curriculum offers a series of activities and exercises that you can do individually or in groups, and at home or in a community meeting place. It is currently being piloted at The Road to Wellness sites and is already gathering a crowd! Click on the Brain Fitness poster or the link above to view the manual.
