OVERVIEW & BENEFITS - FOOD PANTRY

Hunger in New Mexico is primarily a problem for children, the elderly and the working poor. More than 25% of the households served by the Food Pantry include someone who is employed, while over 30% include someone who is disabled or elderly. JFS seeks to address the growing problem of hunger by supplying food items, including some frozen meat and fresh produce, to those in need, with special attention to families with children, the elderly and individuals with disabilities.

  • JFS Food Pantry Needs Your Help

JFS Food Pantry Needs Your Help JFS just received notice that this year’s federal funding for the Food Pantry was cut 50% from last year. Without this funding, our Food Pantry will be more dependent than ever on donations from our supporters. JFS has been feeding families in need in our community since 1999, and will do everything we can to continue providing food for families that come to us for help. Food donations are always welcome, and since we can make your food dollars go significantly further by getting food from Roadrunner Food Bank, monetary donations are even more welcome at this time. If you can help, please click on the “Donate to JFS” button to go to our donation page and make a secure donation online using your credit card. You can also mail your donation to JFS. We thank you for your support!

  • PET FOOD DRIVE FOR SENIORS

    PET FOOD DRIVE FOR SENIORS

JFS’ Food Pantry is now accepting dog and cat food! We are working with senior programs in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho to meet a need of many low-income seniors—the need to help them keep their pets. Many seniors have to choose between feeding themselves and their pets, or have to consider giving up their best friend. If you love your dog or cat, you know how important pets are to others who share your love of animals. For many seniors, their pets are very important, and sometimes their only companions. Please help us enable seniors to continue this love affair with their pets by donating dry or canned cat or dog food to the JFS Food Pantry. Call 291-1818 for more information about how you can help!
