Congregate Meal Site

OVERVIEW & BENEFITS

Hunger in New Mexico, like elsewhere, is a problem primarily for the elderly, children and the working poor. Our nutrition programs aim to supplement the diets of older adults who are having difficulty due to limited budgets.

SERVICES

The Department of Senior Affairs Congregate Meal Site at the Shalom House senior center offers adults, age 60 and over, the opportunity to socialize and enjoy a hot, nutritious lunch five days a week. Non-residents of Shalom House may participate if space is available. A $2.00 donation is requested ($5.00 for adults under 60 years old). Reservations are required by 11:00 the day before you'd like to dine. Please contact our meal site coordinator to make a reservation or for more information.
